Thank you for your interest in our program, and taking time out of your busy day to review our information. 

When I opened The Skills Den, I set out with the 3 C’s as our foundation; Compliance, Confidence, and Competence.  My philosophy is that when the 3 C’s are present together, our direct care staff provides superb care to their consumer.  By empowering direct care staff to understand the basics of compliance, they better understand their role as a caregiver in the consumer’s home, or in a facility, and typically perform with a higher level of confidence; therefore they are better utilizing their skills and minimizing infection and accidents. Our consumers are at the center of everything we do, and I am motivated everyday to make their Quality of Life outstanding by empowering their caregivers to provide exceptional care.

Here are just a few of the reasons that I believe our program can make a difference in our community:

  • Reduces the risk of employee/consumer injury by promoting confidence, awareness and proper technique.
  • Promotes healthy and honest relationships among employees and supervisors.
  • Ensures all tasks/skills are performed above standard reducing infections, incidents & occurrences.
  • Promotes consumer/employee safety reducing insurance premiums.
  • Promotes exceptional customer service.


The Skills Den is Denver’s 1st competency evaluation lab for Home Health Aides and Personal Care Providers. We have recently added an LPN/RN competency evaluation lab that covers high acuity such as ventilator, trach care, suctioning, wound care, and much, much more.  We currently work very closely with Home Health, Home Care and Hospice agencies, and we are expanding our services to include Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities. I am excited about our growth and expansions as it allows us to better fulfill our mission statement.

As a former Administrator, one if my biggest frustrations was always searching for vendors and partners to work with us to maintain credentials and compliance. Due to that frustration, The Skills Den adopted a One Stop Shop philosophy bringing services of all kinds under one roof. As you review the enclosed information you will see our information on CPR/ First Aid, Mobile lab options, and much more. We are always looking to expand that philosophy so please feel free to share ideas and feedback with us.
