COMPETENCIES MADE EASY

The Skills Den lab provides competency evaluations for Home Health Aides and Personal Care Workers, in a setting similar to their work environment. All Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, and Medicare skills are evaluated for competency. When Health Care workers arrive at the lab, they should be prepared to perform every skill required under CDPHE and Medicare Conditions of Participation, including: bathing, transfers, ambulation, bed making, catheter care, oral care, hair care, nail care, dressing, dressing applications, vital signs, gloving, hand washing, shaving, urinary collection, positioning, and range of motion. Home Health Aides and Personal Care Workers are considered competent when all regulated skills are performed satisfactorily. 

The Skills Den has also added competency programs that include Skilled Nursing Facilities and In-Patient Hospice. Our dedicated nursing team performs competency evaluations on facility employees in their work environment. This process ensures that all skills necessary for superb job performance are witnessed and documented.
